Welcome, Lucy. I'd love another volunteer from England. All I need is your name, email address, and general location, and when I am contacted by an HGer in your area, I'll pass along her information. The two of you decide what kind/how much to share and be involved. Just send me an email or a PM by using the bottons at the bottom of this post, and I'll get you added. :)

Hi,

I am from Canton, Wayne County, Michigan. I suffered HG throughout my PG and thankfully my 7 week old is doing wonderfully. I see there are 6 volunteers in MI. I would like to volunteer any help possible. Please add me to your list.

Thanks so much, Heather. We're working to merge the volunteer lists from the HER site and the forums, and I do call on site volunteers when needed, but if you'd like to send me an email or PM and get me your email, I can get in touch a little easier if someone from your area needs you. :)

Another Volunteer in Colorado

Postby ghcinder » Jan 01, 2006 2:07 pm

I am Meghan and this is my first post in the board. I had HG from 5 weeks til 18 weeks (then it was just severe nauseau until I gave birth). I guess it would be considered pretty mild compared to others on here (though for those 13 weeks it felt like hell). I live in Aurora, CO outside of Denver and would love to be a volunteer as a buddy. I felt alone during my pregnancy and I wouldn't want anyone else to feel that way.

Thanks, Meghan. I've love to add you to the volunteers list; just send me an email (by hitting the button at the bottom of this post) with your name, location, and email address. There are so many varying degrees of HG, but what's really important is that we all understand the hell others are living through.

Buddy me up!

Postby Cathy » Feb 23, 2006 1:38 am

Hi :-)

I had HG my whole pregnancy; I managed the illness with Zofran (aka the wonder drug!) and HG only ended for me the day after I delivered. I know how difficult it can be to do even little things that everyone seems to take for granted ... like entering a grocery store, brushing your teeth, or trying to drink a little water... so if there is anyone out there who needs my help then buddy me up! I want to help you!

I just moved to Manassas, VA from Clarksville, TN (and I am originally from NS, Canada).

I have a beautiful three and a half month old baby and I am very willing to show you what you have to look forward to.

Thanks, Cathy. Congratulations on the new baby! :D If you'd like to add your name to the volunteer list, send me a PM or an email. All I need is an email address to route HGers to, and you'll be contacted when someone can use your support. It's great of you to reach out to others!

Available

Postby Hurlygirl » Apr 27, 2006 11:09 am

Hi PamelaRose

Thanks for hooking me up to Claire in the UK. She has been a fabulous buddy. I am now available to be a buddy to someone else in the UK.

I have had excellent luck in getting the NHS to provide me with treatment -- although it hasn't been easy. I am happy to share what I have learned with others.

Best

I'm in Norway but am moving to KS, and am from NY, so if I fit in, and if we can make it via email and phone, I'm happy to buddy asap! Mine was in NYC while I was pg and in Norway, and it worked out well.

Volunteer for Kent UK

Postby Hopes » May 25, 2006 2:48 am

Dear Pamela

I have been in contact with you before regarding being a volunteer for Kent,UK

I just wondered if it would help if I sorted out the volunteer's into counties/states like you have got in the US. As on your list you only have Uk -13.

I am trying to sort out some sort of flyer for the local hospitals so I can offer non-medical support. I thought that I could maybe start a support group where if I get enough volunteers that we might be able to visit HG sufferers who are unable to get to the support group or organise an online chat. Just so we can reach people who need a should to support them.

What do you think?

Open to ideas as I'm really wanting to help.

Kindest regards

Louise

That's a fantastic idea, Louise, and I'd love for someone to jump in and volunteer to sort through the UK ladies! I'm, er, a bit challeneged at Uk geography...as I'm sure you recall. 8) Remind me again if I don't get to it soon, and we'll figure out a way to get it set up. There's been talk of setting up a UK support group for years, as there hasn't been much since Kerri Simpson moved and Bloomin' Awful stalled, so I think you may be in the right place at exactly the right time.

Dear Pamela

Thank you for your reply.

I would love to start up something again in the UK as it's much needed. I was really sad when Blooming awful stalled.

Can you advise me on the best way to go about starting a support group? I'm going to send out flyers to the local hospitals to start so then I can help from home to start with and hopefully start trying to raise awareness.

DO you think that a web site is the best method of contact?

Not sure where to go now.

Best wishes

Louise
