Support Buddies

Postby mrs_westyofoz » Nov 15, 2006 1:55 pm

Is there some where we can put our names to be support buddies for people in our own time zones etc ?

Or a list where we can see who lives in our time zones ?

Thanks for the support this site has offered me and I am hoping to be able to return the favor to someone else.

We do have a list of volunteers, and I organize it by location and also cross-reference special conditions or concerns to help connect women with the most in common. If you go to the main site, in the "For Mothers" section and click on "Our Volunteers," you'll find the public list of volunteers. I have many more on the forums list, though we're working on merging these. If you'd like to add your name to the list as a support contact, you can email me. I'm happy to pass along names of others near you, too; we've got a few locations trying to line up some kind of local support in the US, and the UK ladies are organizing again, but I think the effort to put together an Australian contingent stalled awhile back. Just waiting for the right person to organize in Oz!

Sign me up for the OZ one. I am more than happy to work with ladies from Australia and get the medical professions backside into gear on hearing about HG and not thinking its something out of alienation when we come in hugging our puke buckets and saying we are losing weight faster than we can vomit....

Not that I'm trying to bust in on this thread, but if you need any volunteers for the UK, I'll gladly help, just PM me and I'll give you the contact details.

I believe you're on the list yet, Helen. Have you heard from Louise? I'll check and make sure.

I think I got an email a while back, but I was pg at the time and didn't feel I could do too much at that point. But now I'm getting there, I would love to help. I don't think I still have the email now.
