I know I dropped off the radar last fall (we moved plus lots of other stuff went on in the last months and admittedly I needed to put the HG behind me somewhat) but wanted to let you all know how things turned out. The HG became manageable after I was about 20 weeks. I never got back to 'normal' but hey, I could eat most of the time! I ended up with a net loss of 7lbs when all was said and done. I was up to my pre-preganncy weight for a few weeks and then dropped the last few pounds in the last weeks when the vomiting kicked back in again.
Anyway, I haven't written out her whole story yet.
I was induced on 5/16 because I developed pre-eclampsia (which I'm learning I was now at risk for because of the HEG and my autoimmune disease, even though I'd never had it before)
That day I was getting pretty sick but baby was still well so we decided that was that. I'm a VBAC too, BTW.
Mag sulfate, pit, abx....three pumps and four bags of fluid and a foley in. It was a very uncomfortable labor. They pulled the foley out at 8cm thank heavens.
I labored for about 6 hours only two of which were anything intense. No pain meds thanks to my two remarkable doulas and dh.
Lucy was born at 6:32 PM weighing 7lbs 5 oz. She is perfect and beautiful and was worth of second of nausea and vomiting and IV sticks and exhaustion.
So happy to see other mom's like proudmama who were suffering along with me alst fall now have their little angels in arms too!!!!!!
