Chris, he's adorable!

I'm amazed that they sent you home on day three after your c/s! Here they keep you in for 6 days to kick-start your recovery, and we get home help for 6 weeks after that. Are you getting any sort of support like that?

Erin, the expected extra stay is only for Mums who've had a c/s or other complications, although we were told in antenatal classes that "you don't have to go home until you feel ready, but we'd like you to be gone before your baby starts school". The home help is for mothers who've had a c/s, complications or had a high risk indicator on the PPD risk factor assessment. It's a very good system and I thought it was Australia wide, which is why I was surprised at Chris getting sent home so early. Obviously it's not, but it explains why there is money to pay doctors in other Aus states more, which is why we are developing a doc availability crisis here.

Thank you so much girls .. I wll post more pics now I can thank you!!

Amanda .. I elected to go home early since it was Easter the next day and for no other reason. I truly did feel great though and was taking full care of Joshua anyway. I went Private and they do not have the home midwives proramme but my health fund offered home help since I went home early, but that is what dh is for LOL!! He has 2 weeks off so is doing all the school trips etc .. Ob says I cannot drive for 2 weeks ad that is nearly here already  Ok quick pics as ds is stirring .. he poops every 5 seconds and it wakes him up .. he otherwise is an angel!!

Chris,

I'm glad you're feeling so good! I think it helps to not have had a full-on labour preceding a section, in that regard.

Your kids are all gorgeous, and the older ones look so happy with their new little brother. You must be so proud, of yourself as well as of them. :D

Yep Amanda, I was so scared of labouring and then having a section anyway which is why when things were going well and truly not according to plan I opted for the ceasar. How long until you have yours?? .. not long now!! Are you feeling well or have you got stuck in the third tri hg revamp???

Chris, you all look so happy, what a great family. :D

As of today, I have 23 days until my c/s, but of course depending on when you're reading this, just take 10 days off my ticker. I'm very excited to have a proper date to look forward to. YAY. I have my good days and bad days. More bad days than I had with DD, but less than many other women here, so it's good to have the clearer perspective that this site gives me.

Take care
