Did bedrest (or general lack of activity) help with your HG?

Did rest help w/ your HG?

Postby Ben's Mom » Aug 13, 2006 10:46 pm

I noticed a huge difference in how I felt when I stopped working and started resting. I'm wondering if anyone else had this experience.

I voted yes, because although I still felt absolutely awful with my first, it was better when I wasn't doing anything. Mind you for the first 5 months or so I had no choice, I couldn't have gotten up even if I'd wanted to.

This PG I am a SAHM and it has been easier because I haven't had to worry about work, and I have help too when I can't manage on my own.

I also answered yes. I think there is some research somewhere that shows that stress exacerbates HG. My job was very physical and stressful. I felt much, much better (relatively speaking) when I was signed off.

I said yes- a good example was this week. I had been doing ok- maybe vomitting 1xday for 2 days. So I thought I could make it out of the house. I made an apt. to have the dog groomed. I dropped him off and had 3 hours to blow. I made myself stay out and not return home. I went to the mall where i just ended up sitting for about an hour trying not to puke. When i got home- i was sick the rest of the night. I have been off work for about 3 months now and don't see how there is anyway in the world I could do it now ( I am a floor nurse at a hospital). Just being able to do what I need to do at that moment to aleve the nausea is what totally helps. Although- I can hardly sleep, i do rest.
