Was your HG worse or better on the third pregnancy?

Of all of you who have had three or more pregnancies, was your HG worse or better on the third? What was each on like?

Three pregnancies, each one progressively worse. #3 was by far the absolute worse but I think the fact that I was significantly older also might have contributed.

#1 - undiagnosed, miscarried at 12 weeks. Sick from 5-11 weeks, lost 30+ lbs.

#2 - sick 5-14 weeks, hospitalized 2 weeks, lost 25 lbs., Phenergan and Reglan through end of 2nd trimester.

#3 - sick 7-20 weeks, hospitalized 2 weeks, weekly clinic rehydration, lost 25 lbs, no meds.

#4 - sick 5-14 weeks, hospitalized 1 week, daily fluids via PICC 9-14 weeks, lost 15 lbs, Zofran, meclizine, Unisom/B6 in various combos through pregnancy.

I had less of a build-up to vomiting each time; HG seemed to hit harder and faster, but it also faded sooner with each successive pregnancy. My treatment got better and better, too, and that helped. I was much calmer with my later pregnancies; an insurance co nurse remarked that I didn't "sound" like an HG patient because I wasn't crying...and I told her that by the 4th time through, you realize that it really will end and that tears are just a fast way to dehydrate. I think knowing what to expect helped tremendously after the first couple times through.

My 3rd pregnancy was my best.
My 1st was twins, I spent 3 months in hospital.
My 2nd was a girl, I spent 5 months in hospital, and
My 3rd I spent 1 day in hospital.

What made the difference, any number of things from...
- Knowing what I needed to get through it,
- Knowing how to work the system and get the meds,
-Being well prepared and having my midwife fully on board
- Having a toddler at home and having to be there to care for her
- Carrying a boy (don't really know if gender made a difference)

With each pregnancy HG started a week earlier...
Pg1 started at 6wks, ended 5wks after my babies died
Pg2 started at 5 weeks, ended at 24 weeks
Pg3 started at 4 weeks and nausea from conception and ended at 18 weeks.

#1~ sick for 9 months. Had a Dr who didn't seem concerned about the weight loss or vomiting. Outpatient once for dehydration. Loss of 50+ lb.

#2~ same Dr. Twins. By far my easiest pregnancy. I was sick from about 6 weeks to 14 weeks, but was given Zofran this time and had one outpatient visit for dehydration. Gain of 70 lb.

#3~ I was sick from 8 weeks until 16 weeks. I am 24 weeks now. No longer vomiting, but still lots of food sensitivity and still losing weight. I have a wonderful Dr this time. Hospital 3 times for dehydration. Loss of about 25 lb.
