I posted already that I'm A-. What's interesting about the A- blood type is that only 6% of the population in the US is A- (according to wikipedia, w/ similar rates for other countries). I counted 12 people on this thread who stated that either they (or in a few cases their mother, or grandmother) were A- and had HG. That seems like a higher proportion than the 6% national average. And although I didn't count, there seemed to be a fair share of negative blood types in general (o- is 7% of national population, b- is 2% of national population). It just seems like a higher than normal population of negatives. Who knows, it's just all very interesting...
After reading this thread, I've been so interested in blood type, immune system, liver functioning. Someone mentioned above that type A's can have liver and immune system problems. I've always been so sensitive to medications and alcohol (and now pregnancy hormones), which can be related to liver issues. My doctor has also noted that I have a hypersensitive immune system - my blood was tested years ago when I happened to have a cold, and my white blood cell count was very high. After re-testing a few weeks later, it was fine, but the doc said I have an overactive response when I'm sick. I was discussing this at work tonight, and one of my co-workers happens to be A- and said the same thing about her immune system - very high white blood cell count when sick - and also very sensitive to medications and alcohol. (But, she had a fluffy pregnancy...)
