What's your blood type?

Postby Lil7Deb » Jun 14, 2004 3:11 pm

Do you know your blood type?

I wonder if there is a relation between a womans blood type and that of her offspring. Or just ingeneral if more of a specific blood type seem to have HG more frequently then the others.

ETA -
I'm type A+
My Mother is AB+ had severe NVP with one pregnancy.
My grandmother A+ HG 1 of 3 pregnancies

I wonder if that is the link. Thank you so much for sharing!

Have you read the Eating for your Blood Type book? It's a great book. I found it interesting that type A's seem to have Liver and immune system problems. Which is one of the hypothesis for a cause of HG.

I (and my DH) are both A+
My mom had nasty NVP and was A-

Very interesting! I'm hoping there is no link because both of our girls are more than likely A+, too.

Deborah,

You're probably already doing this, but you should record this info in a spreadsheet. I would love to see if there's a trend in blood types!

I am seeing a lot of A results so ran off to check mine. I am A+. My liitle girl is also A+ (I hope this doesn't mean she will get hg). My huband is O+ and I'm not sure of my son's group.
I really hope we can find a link because then we can really believe there may be a cure one day - hopefully in time for our little ones.

I am O+ I believe. I am not sure if it is a blood type thing or not. My guess really is not. But, my mom does have Lupus and she was also very sick with her 1st pregnanacy (me, a girl) but not nearly so much with her second (a boy).

It was just an idea since I was reading the book "eating for your blood type". The HER foundation actually researched it and it came back with the same spread as the general population's.The study will be posted when the final conclusion has been presented.

So no the blood type isn't the link.

Yes, I'm actually surpised how many A+/- women we have here. I wonder if it's enough to open a new study.
There is a study going on about the blood types. I hope they don't drop it and they check to see what the babies blood types are as well.
