What is it with McDonald's?

Postby luckygirl75 » Sep 14, 2007 8:38 pm

For some strange reason, I've been living off McDonald's. I get a double cheeseburger with no onions and french fries. My daughter thinks I'm disgusting and a huge hypocrite because I usually strongly discourage fast food. I'm my son's new favorite dining companion, though. Also, I'm loving the Hi-C orange with tons of ice!!
I'm with all the other posters that what sounded good even yesterday has become today's worst enemy!

McDonald's fries were usually good for me. And I went through a period of eating egg mcmuffins too. If you read the sticky at the top on successful fast food you'll see others have been successful with it as well. I swear what works never makes any sense at all, but I just go with it.

FOODMENT

I think the whole thing with some of the fast foods are that they are so consistent in taste/texture from one time to the next that your stomach knows what to expect. Thats why kids like them, no surprises (and the toy is a bonus)... always the same, like their favorite blankie or stuffy.

I was great with their plain hamburgers because there really is no taste to them and they are pretty darn dry.

Foodment..

For some reason I can eat a freak'n plain cheeseburger. Now I normally HATE MCDs and I of course HATE anything plain. I just don't get it.

FOODMENT: I lived on the chicken nuggets early in my pregnancy with Colton. I was still working, and my husband would go pick them up and bring them to me while I was lying in my van trying not to throw up. They usually did manage to stay down.

I think it's the preservatives.. Because the same food from a "fresh" restaurant doesn't have the same effect.

It's Filet 'O Fish for me, both pregnancies.
