I wouldn't say it was embarrassing as such but the funniest place I chucked was at the hospital. I'd begged my dr to send me to hospital for 4 days before I finally got sent in for an assessment, as I hadn't eaten anything and hardly managed to keep any liquids down. When I finally got seen by a consultant, I told him I was sick nearly all day and on average was sick around 20-25 times a day. He asked me what my sick was like and I promptly threw up all over him...LOLOL!! Well he wanted to know! I was embarrassed afterwards, but at the time I really didn't care!

 Helen, how many of us wish we could have been sick on our doctors?

I think my "favourite" was when we had to travel for an appointment with a specialist, and we stopped at a McDonalds because I had to try to eat SOMETHING, and I did try, but then had to rush to the toilets to spew. It was one of those repetitive retchy ones with lots of noisy dry retches in between the ones with content. DH said that a group of teenage girls came out of the toilets talking about how bad the food must be, because there was a girl in there being really really sick.

Most memorable vomit was probably in an empty coffee can I'd grabbed out of the teachers' lounge. I hid in my back book closet and puked in between classes as my students walked in the room. That was a bad morning. I went straight to the hospital after that and had a nice, long rehydration vacation.

Mine was while gettin hydration in the doc's office. They give you IV's right in the clinic here and just as the doc came in to check on how I was doing with the IV's I started vomiting. He said, "I guess that answers my question, I am going to admit you". That was my only admittance to the hospital, but it was when I first heard hyperemesis.

I was at work and had just picked up my team of patients for the night. I was changing a patients dressing when all of the sudden I felt the urge to vomit. I had known for three days that I was pregnant, but had no idea that hyperemesis is usually repeated in subsquent pregnancies. SO anyhoo I left his room in a hurry and got sick. Thinking that I just needed to get some fluids in I cracked open a sprite and attempted to drink it. My patients dressing change should have taken 5 minutes to complete, but with me running out of there to get sick every thirty seconds it took well over an hour.

I called my doctor, and she advised me to walk down the hall to our ER. I was admitted for fluids, and would'nt you know it they put me on my floor so my peers were my nurses, and were the ones emptying my puke bucket, and measuring my urine
