Ladies,
My baby girl has been born! She is happy, healthy, and I am so way in love that it's disgusting! My life has taken on a whole new meaning.
I have to keep it short right now because I have about 10 min before she wakes up. But, let me fill you in on details:
Daliah was induced on July 10th due to a slight amniotic leak that could become dangerous if not taken care of.
Delivery wasn't bad at all, though those contractions HURT me. She arrived after 3.5 hours of pushing and was worth every single push. I am in love. In a big way.
She was 7 lb 13 oz at birth but has lost weight and has some jaundice. As I write, she is on home health care on the bilirubin machine. She is responding well so far. I am stressed over her jaundice issue, though. It's hard to have her on that machine. She only has a score of 16, which typically doesn't require the bilirubin machine, but I wanted to nip this in the bud QUICKLY. And, docs agreed.
My milk hasn't come in yet. This stresses me out b/c I feel responsible for her weight loss. We are working with a lactaction specialist, as I am trying desperately to successfully breast feed. Hopefully tommorrow, day 5, it will be here. Uggh.
She is the most beautiful baby and my husband and I thank God for this miracle.
As for HG....
Ladies, it's totally GONE. Every last bit. The day before induction, I was still so weak that I had to be helped to the bathroom and could barely walk on my own without feeling faint. GONE. Energy BACK!
I was nauseous on the day of induction. I gave birth....GONE. Immediately!
My spirits are high. I feel thankful and content and pretty darn healthy again! You will too! This pregnancy was beyond worth the struggle, as my baby daughter is here with me now. All is well in the world.
Thank you all for your support. Due to baby's jaundice, I'll be checking a bit less frequently until she and I are recuperated. But, I can't wait to help other HG'ers who have travelled in these shoes, so I'll try to check as much as newborn schedule permits.
Love,
Amy
