I think pregnancy causes senility. I've been confused as to the date since 1998 when my first was born! I have caught myself wanting to write "2001" or "2003" or even "1999" on checks... When they ask for DOB for me at the doctor's office, I draw a blank and have to mentally run through my kids' birthdates until I can reach into my musty memory for mine. I do like the notion that we're halting time, though. I'll stay in 1998 and enjoy being 25 for another decade!

Hi there well you can pick from the 3 due dates I have been given lol Originally I was due Nov 5th , then had the scan found my dates were even further out than that. So was then EDD December 4th , believe me I  when they told me that and at my NT scan they said I was due around Nov 28th... I am sticking to the Nov 28th date lol

Mary - I can totally relate to the shock of being put back that much, when I had my dating scan I was (according to my dates) 15 weeks, But I was convinced I was further along because I already had an enormous bump, but imagine my horror when they put me BACK almost 3 weeks to 12+4, it totally sucks, my original EDD was 7th sept, then they put me back to 24th sept.

Oh my goodness, you guys. I had my u/s at 10 weeks (according to my last period) and found out that I was actually only 9 weeks pregnant. I couldn't imagine being put back an entire month!! I think I would have totally lost it.

Believe me peanut I cried for a week ( ok well an hour ) when they put my dates back. I was counting the weeks till the 12 week mark ( you know when normal MS is supposed to go away ) and well to lose another 4 weeks off that was almost more than I could of coped with. But I did its just made for an extra long pregnancy.

Though most people seem to think I am going to Weight Watchers and am not really pregnant after all. I cant wait for the bump to be obvious. Makes me worry that baby isnt getting enough , heaven knows I aint.... :hugs:

Mary,

With my first pregnany I was scared that I never gained weight back to my prepregnancy weight (I was a 8 lbs lighter that before I got pregnant). Everything was fine with my son. I did have to have an u/s at about 30-35 weeks because my little one was not growing as much as they thought. He was fine and he weighed 6'7" at birth (my family and my husband's family have smaller babies). The only problem that I had afterwards was that I shrank 2 shoes sizes and I shrank one inch in height.

Weight loss

Hi there Peanut. I am half way there now and I dont expect to reach my prepregnancy weight but that can be a good thing , I just would rather it be a couple of pounds lighter rather than almost 50 at the half way mark...
I have a scan today to check on baby and hopefully baby is continueing to grow well and when I see this hopefully it will be one less stress I worry about on a daily basis.
My oldest son is 17 and he was a HUGE preemie , he was 6 weeks early and weighed 5 pounds 10 ounces , my daughter is almost 15 she was late ( and still is for everything lol ) and was 7 pounds 7 ounces and my last son he is almost 10 he was 7 pounds 9 ounces. This is my first baby with my 2nd husband and his 4 previous kids were all 6.7 pounders as well. Hopefully this baby continues to grow and maintains its weight even if I cant...

OK off to our appointment and scan... We may actually get a peek at what sex this little monkey is gonna be.....Hopefully hahaha the water stays down long enough for them to do the scans....

Hi, guys.

I'm new to the forums as of today but I might as well jump right in.

My due date from two different ultrasounds is either Jan 3 or Dec 31. I guess I'll go with Dec 31, but last time I got preeclampsia and had to be induced at 36 weeks, so I'm not sure I'll make it that long.

Hi there we seen our Ob/Gyn last week and well he wants us to aim for Nov 28th and has listed that as our new EDD. He did mention most HG mums delivery early. Is this true ? I have had one preemie son ( 6 weeks early he was a twin unfortunately my 2nd son died in utero at 18 weeks cause unknown but suspected TTTF) fortunately he was a big preemie ( 5 pounds 10 ounces ) and at 17 you would never guess he was early for anything in his life

I went into labor at 31 weeks with my son. It was stopped, but then he was delivered full term at 38 weeks. I would be interested to find out if HG moms really do deliver early.

Hi Lora,

The survey the Foundation conducted did show a higher statistical likelihood for preterm labor as well as some other crappy stuff.

Most HGers who suffer preterm labor BECAUSE of HG suffer up to the very end. Malnutrition, dehydration, and other imbalances can lead to preterm labor--and these things are also linked to low birthweight babies. Of course, pregnancy is pregnancy and a percentage of women are going to have unexpected preterm labor and tiny babies regardless of HG. Most of the really severe pregnancy complications that have been linked to HG are only of concern to women whose HG is severe enough to have them dropping weight through the entire pregnancy or requiring massive interventions to avoid doing so. Most of us, thankfully, do not fall into that category, and HG babies are generally big and healthy regardless of our suffering.

HG and Preemie ?

I dont guess there has been research done to find a link between HG and prematurity ?

I have been told I am predisposed to premature babies because my first was 6 weeks early , well my second was 4 weeks late ( they let me go late cause she was so tiny and at age 15 she still is ) and my third was 4 days off my due date so who knows.

Just another question , when I had my urine check at my last appointment they said there were traces of glucose in my urine , well I dont know how considering the one thing that triggers of the :sickfast: is anything sweet. So is diabete's another complication in HG suffers due to the extra stresses placed on the body ? I know so many questions but this is the first time for me , cant believe that after 3 fluffy pregnancies this has sneaked up on me , from the day I found out at what I thought was 9 weeks but was really only 4/5 weeks thru to now at almost 22 weeks......

If you have glucose in your urine, the doc should send you for a blood test to test for diabetes. If I remember correctly it takes quite a bit of glucose in your blood to spill over into the urine.

My doctor didnt seem to concerned , though the nurse hmm'ed and hmm'ed again over it ( dont ya just hate that give me an answer I dont go hmm when you ask me something ) then said they wont do nothing since it was only a trace , but recommended I have the glucose tolerance test at 28 weeks , well yay silly remember I cant drink a can of cola in 3 hours without barfing each mouthful , but yeah I can drink your 300ml's of glucose water , ugh yeah this is gonna me so much fun... Better to remember to take my barf bucket and a spare pair of panties. I am sure all this barfing has made my bladder the weakest in history even with pelvic floor exercises when my brain is alive enough to even remember what they are ..... Oh yeah I can see this is gonna be a blast.
