I'm new to this site, live in Missouri, and would love to have a buddy. I'm almost 14 weeks pregnant and have had endless fun with HG for 8 weeks now. Compared to some others, I have a relatively mild case - I'm holding my weight steady in spite of the vomiting with the help of Zofran. Support would be wonderful! I'll PM you with my contact information.

buddy system

Postby ldr922 » Jul 06, 2007 12:40 am

Hey the buddy system worked all thru elementary school...why not now? I would be interested if there was someone else from the Colorado area.
Thanks-

Precisely, Elsa! It always helps to know that someone else is watching out for you. I have many volunteers in Colorado; I'll be in touch in the next few days--if you don't hear from me, PLEASE remind me!

I'm happy to, Drew. Bear with me if it takes awhile--I'm sharing a laptop with my husband right now and finding time to get to everything is proving difficult. But I put you on a list, and I WILL be in touch. :)

I had a buddy last full term pregnancy and it was so nice.
I am due April 8th...sounds so far away. I am a 3 full term pregnancy and one mc survivor with severe HG.
I currently live in Japan, but will buddy up over the forum and internet with anyone.
I just need someone who understands what this does to us and our other kids!

Thanks...and it is so neat that so many of you stay here long after your battles with HG to help...I thin kI would like to help out after this birth, since it is my last, as 4 is the goal!

First I just have to say Pamela, you are an angel. I knew something more than just "bad morning sickness" was going on with my first pregnancy and now with my second it's even worse. Currently I have moderate HG with this pregnancy and am hoping it doesn't get any worse. Would love to have a buddy to touch base with though, if for not other reason than I want to strangle my extended family most days (they don't know the first thing about HG and keep telling me I'll be fine if I just drink lots of water and eat better). I'm in South Carolina, but am on the computer most days (when I can get out of the bathroom). We are 17 weeks right now and due to have our second son on January 21, 2008. Thanks again for creating such a wonderful refuge!

Thanks for your kind words. We're all one big happy family here, working to help others the way we wished we were supported with HG. I'm happy to get you in contact with someone who understands that it's more than trying to eat and drink better. One South Carolina volunteer, coming up!

Pamela - I don't think I've ever officially volunteered to be a buddy! You can add me. I'm just outside Louisville, Kentucky. That's northern Kentucky so I may also be close to some southern Indiana users if they are near I65.

Hi. Im new here. Someone on TWW referred me over here.
So happy to see a support forum.

I had on and off nausea at 5 weeks but then at exactly 6 1/2 weeks things went insane. I vomited non stop for 7 hrs on wednesday. Went to the hosp. They said I was severely dehydrated.
Was sick adn weak thursday and Friday started all over again.

I'm on zofran now but It just takes the edge off.

My hands go numb too. Is that normal? And I get weird headaches and my vision gets blurry.

Anyways I would love abuddy. I live in the great state of Pennsylvania.

Thanks.

p.s.
My mother had hg with me but she is deceased and I cant get any info.
N one else in my family had it.

Hi, Robin. I'm happy to line you up with a support volunteer. The headaches, blurred vision, and numbness are signs of dehydration and electrolyte imbalance, which means more IV rehydration. Zofran will only work if you're well hydrated, and it often does not work to best effect by itself. Call your doctor and report your symptoms or go visit your local ER and ask to be admitted for extended rehydration. Hope that helps!

Am I on the list?

Postby JPSmomma » Sep 01, 2007 9:48 pm

Pamela, am I on your buddy list? I think I've let you know before, but I don't remember. I'd love to help. I'm in South Central Kentucky, the Bowling Green area. I'm close to northern Middle Tennessee too.
