It's a... (looking for names)

Postby toughluck » Jun 28, 2012 4:46 am

Hey everyone! I feel slightly bad for not writing for such a long time but I really am a lot better - almost fluffy - and have been for a while now so I didn't want to jinx it by saying it out loud. I'm a bit surprised actually because even my doctor predicted I'd still be suffering by now.
Anyway, I had the big ultrasound yesterday and baby is healthy (and from the look on its face very grumpy :D ), also measuring a bit ahead and it's a girl!
I guess I'm a bit excited but somehow I thought it was gonna be a girl for quite a while now. We honestly would have been happy with a boy as well.
So..does anyone have any ideas for names? Somehow picking the boys' names was way easier.
Thanks for your help, everyone!

Ohh I am happy for you and I wish my HG will go away as yours. Hopefully it will. Don't feel bad letting us know how you feel..it is nice to know that some sisters are making it...it give us hope and besides it makes us happy. I don't personally want people suffering like I do. It is nice to know that somewoman with HG, make it to a better stage. Good for you. About names I don't know many but if I have a daughter I am naming her Cielo Sabina. Good luck finding the name and Congratulations again :)

Yay!!! That's great news!

For girl names we pick a sister's name and then a Biblical character trait, so we have Elisabeth Faith and Sarah Grace. We call them by their middle names though.
A third girl would be Meredith Joy. Of couse, after that we're out of sisters, and since we're having twins we might need a 2nd girl name. (We never expected to have so many girls.) Our 3rd daughter is a foster daughter that we've had since she was 3 months old, so we didn't get to pick her name. Anyway, our next name choice is Mercy Annelise. Ann is my MIL's middle name, but I like Annelise better than just Ann.

To be honest though, I'm kind of hoping for 2 boys. That probably sounds horrible, but I'm just kind of tired of dresses and bows and pink. And I want my girls to have brothers, and this is the last chance, well, last biological chance anyway. Our boy names are Nathaniel James and Samuel Carter.

I thought for sure we were having another girl, so I sat and daydreamed about girl names. Then found out we're having a boy! So, here are some of my faves:

Charlotte (call her Charlie for short)
Violet
Elise
Rose

Have fun with it! :)

Girl names are hard. I always find a name I love and then hate it a month later. Good luck!

Thank you for your input! I really like Charlotte but our dog's name is Charlie... Cielo sounds great too but I don't think it fits the German last name. Same goes for the character trait names (Hope is my favorite there - especially for a HG baby).
I was thinking about using my sister's name but she died at birth due to a doctor's mistake and I feel like settling on her name might be a bad sign.
Oh man, didnt think picking out a name would be so difficult!
@sweetpea: actually I'm a bit scared about the whole pink dress situation. I got no problem with the color but I was one of these girls wishing she was a boy, never wearing dresses or skirts and I thought being a princess was a very stupid job! I love being a boys' mum! Though I'm sure it's great with girls too.. just as long as she doesn't want me to do her hair ... even horses look stupid when I do their manes (sp?) :P

My SIL lives w/ us and she's great w/ hair thankfully b/c I'm not too good! Although the 1 yr olds don't require much hair maintenence. With my 1st, we didn't find out the gender until Faith was born b/c if it was a girl I didn't want tons of pink. I wanted greens and yellows. Little girls are fun to dress up - I did try to get a variety of colored clothes although a lot of the hand me downs we were given are pink. I just personally have 3 girls to dress up, and 5 seems a bit overwhelming to me. It's wonderful having daughters though. You'll have fun w/ all the different little outfits, and I'm sure you'll find just the right name.
And for last names, ours is Porch. Nothing sounds right w/ it b/c it's just seems so odd to me.
