I went into the ER last wed morning at 35w5d because I was having contractions. I was given fluids and they slowed down from every 2-3 min to 2-3/hour. I was baffled I certainly had been alot more dehydrated and had been eating but i was only dialated 1cm so they sent me home told me to stay in bed until my Dr's appt 9am on friday morning. I did scared My dd was going to be to early. I continued to hurt but it never got as bad as it was that morning so i waited despite pleas from my husband.
Friday morning I went to the doctor and was weighed the normal stuff...I got my cup and walked to the bathroom which a light was blown in and peed in the dark. As I walked to the lab I felt a gush of water between my legs not alot just like I had peed a little which is what I thought had happened. Embarassed I went back to the bathroom after delivering my sample and took my soaked undies off wrapped them in a paper towel and put them in my purse. I went back and had an ultrasound. The tech said she weighed 4lbs 14oz and my heart sank...two weeks prior she weighed 4lbs 15oz...I just knew something was wrong she hadnt grown any she had lost..then she said my water was a little bit low...maybe I hadn't peed on myself my water was leaking...The midwife came in (I had seen the dr the past couple times) she asked if i had started vomitting again.. she told me my b12 was low so was my vit d..I needed to go to the hospital to get some fluids because the fluid around the baby was low she started about how I needed a shot and some iron we would have to come up with something with the vit deficiency because she knew I couldnt take a pill...I wa hurting and could feel a trickle again I just stopped and said "um I think i'm peeing or my waters leaking..." she wasted no time in getting me ready for an exam and told me to cough so she could test the ph she told me to couph and there was no denying the gush that came after My water was broke i had dialated to 3 and I was having a baby!!!
My Inlaws took me to the appt and were waiting in the lobby the midwife told me to go straight to the hospital I didnt need to go by ambulance she would call and tell them I was coming...I was in complete panic I was only 36 weeks exactly My first DD was born at 36w2d and she was so tiny could i be that lucky again? I am sure i scared everyone in the waiting room to death when i came out and announced to my in laws in a panic i had to go to the hospital my water broke i was having a baby! here is this woman who looks like she might be 4-5months pregnant going into labor and the staff didnt seem so concerned....
I got to the hospital and was told to registar myself ater announcing i was in labor.....seriously?!?! but I dont think th er nurse realized I was actually in labor because when i mentioned my water had broken and i was dialated 3cm she wasted no more time getting ob to me. I was at the hospital by 11am I didnt get my epideral until 3 because the one antestist was in surgery and had she taken another 30 min i would have been to far to get one at all and already by the time i got it i was so tired and weak already. I wound up needing oxegen during delivery i think i just kinda hyperventalated holding my breath through contractions....i know i know your suposed to breath.... I did black out briefly but finally managed to push out my mini baby. she was born 5:55pm on good friday
. she was 5lbs 3oz and 18inches long. she is perfect! just tiny no time in the nicu and no complications. As soon as she was born It was like something in my brain switched off. I had VERY VERY mild nausua the rest of the night but the first thing i said was "ok now somebody get me a cheesebuger!" and it was awsome!!that first night they wouldnt let me have her in my room all night because she was running a low temp but i got to feed her. Because of her weight they were concerned wih her blood sugars so they wanted me to supliment with formula in the hospial so i did and we left the hospital at 5lbs1oz. she however is breast feeding now without a problem and eats every two hours seems to be doing well on my milk... I ate pretty much non stop for the first couple of days but have pretty much leveled off now to normal amounts though I still have to eat smaller amounts more often..just because my stomach has shrank I guess I dont get sick or anything just cant eat like I did pre pregnant I get full faster but am hungry more often...I am currenly down 48lbs from where i started prepregnancy but this tiny bundle is healthy and I did survive! I am going to try to post a pic.
yea forget the not eating for over 7 months I had it easy there at the end for a whole few hours.....
