I interviewed a daycare provider yesterday. She complimented me on how small and thin I was for being a month away from my due date.
"Actually," I told her, "I had very severe morning sickness that's persisted through my whole pregnancy."
"Oh, you're lucky then!" she enthused. "I put on so much weight when I was pregnant. I just couldn't stop myself from eating."
"I was barely able to eat at all for the first 4.5 months of my pregnancy and lost a great deal of weight. Even now I'm still on medication and I'm struggling daily with nausea and vomiting."
She laughs and says, "Trust me honey, it isn't nearly as bad as trying to drop 50 pounds after pregnancy. I'm still struggling to lose the last of it."
! So apparently we should all be happy our illness is keeping us thin. Grrr....
