As if all of that wasn't bad enough they had to go there with the sea sick bands....urgh! WHY....? Why do people do that. Try not to let them get to you to much obviously they have no clue what hg is or what it is like to have it. I would have been furious to mostly because we deal with this day in and day out and she acts like its a joke! That by the way is so not funny....lol! Well thanks for writing try not to let her rants get you down......she obviously has no clue......lol

This type of thing makes me worry about society not taking the real HG seriously. It puts a whole incorrect face on what is such a serious illness. She needs to be schooled by someone (not saying you, since you have to have a relationship with this person) so she stops making HG look fake.

That's what I was thinking. We already have medical professionals, friends, co-workers, etc. who like to believe that we are faking it. People like this are distracting from the very real difficulties Hgers face.

I gotta admit though, that darned sea bands comment made me laugh. . . the sheer ridiculousness.

I agree, this girl needs a serious talking to! I have been really lucky as my friends have been able to say things like 'urgh my morning sickness is horrible, I hate to think what you've been through'. It helps.

I would hate to think that people like this girl is letting the world know that this is what HG is like, and if her friend made a comment about sea bands, she also needs to put straight that if they cured her friend, she obviously did not have HG. It makes me mad, as it belittles everything real HGers go through and only enforces doctors opinions of 'pregnancy sickness' and over reacting females. I hope someone has a firm word with these girls.

If her illness responds to treatments for normal NVP, then it's normal NVP, not HG. That's sort of the POINT of dx of HG.

Just ignore her. People who did not experience HG they will never understand. It's just wasting a time to try explain something, specially to stupid people who think sea band is cure for HG.

I have a friend like that on FB too!

She had 3 days of vomiting in her 1st trimester then she was well.
She even went to the Dr to ask for Zofran cause she was so ill - He did not give it to her.

Now she is saying she has HG in her 3rd trimester - But the post before that was "I just ate a whole cheesecake"

OMG! I am wondering why some ppl make a mockery of this illness. Esp when they know ppl who have suffered personally.

I am wondering is it a poor me syndrome or just sympathy play or am I too harsh

You're not being too harsh. Even someone who wasn't pregnant would throw up after eating a whole cheesecake. I mean, really.

Maybe I am just bitter as I would love one slice....One day
