She's 87 lbs now...
I came to Utah in November bacause my 18 yr old sister was hospitalized. I wanted to help out. I was about 4 weeks pg when I came. I knew hg was a possiblility, but was hoping for another normal pg as with my second. She was in the hospital for 10 days...she had mono caused by 2 different viruses. I was able to help out for her hospital stay and a few days after that. Then my hg hit and I was down for the count. My poor mother had to take care of my sister, my kids, and me. My other sister has been helping out a lot with my kids, but...
They found out months later that she has gastroparesis as a result of the mono. With gastroparesis, the nerves to your stomach are damaged, many times permenently, and the stomach doesn't empty properly. Many people end up losing jobs and lives...living off a tube put in their stomach to feed them, pain pills, nausea pills, GI emptying pills multiple times a day for the rest of their lives, many of them end up having multiple surgeries. She's been struggling with nausea and vomiting, mostly nausea, ever since her hospital stay. She's been in bed and too weak and sick to get up and with a home tutor ever since November. She is a senior in high school, class vice president, very well liked....now this. She's so depressed and she went in to the dr's today and weighed in at 87 lbs, she's about 5'6"!!! They are hospitalizing her again and we don't know what will happen. I've been empathizing with her because of my hg...man having gastropareisis is almost like having to live with hg for your whole life and not ending up with a baby at the end. I'm scared for her, she's so young. Please keep her in your thoughts and pray for her...
