What is the best thing you have found to help with constipation while on the zofran pump : )

Two words: gloved finger. I know, TMI, but when you're desperate...
DD - 7/06/2009 (undiagnosed HG, IUGR, low AFI, issues with umbilical cord, induction @ 37wks)
DS - due 9/18/2012 (mod-severe HG 7 wks-present, PICC, Zofran pump, Phenergan, Benedryl)

You need what we call a bowel protocol -- daily medications that help keep the pipes moving.

I took 4 sennekot a day, as well as 3 or 4 stoiol softeners. many ladies here use Miralax.

When going, remember teh idea of counter-pressure (this will come in very handy when giving birth, but in the other hole) -- you know the skin between the vagina and the anus? Push on it with a gloved finger as you strain and push the poop out. It will help a lot and eliminate tearing.

I took two colace (docusate) a day which was 200mg. Then i did a capful of miralax everyother day in apple juice. I could not drink the apple juice but i did have my hubby make apple juicevand miralax popcycles and everyother day i slowly worked on it all day long. I had to do a suppository a couple times and refused to do an enema! But yes get on something everyday... And dont forget it or youll pay for it!!

In my last pregnancy, I got so constipated that when I finally did have a bowel movement, it took NINE hours and I had regular "contractions" every 15 minutes. I thought I was in labor and freaking out because the baby wasn't viable.

After that, I took Dulcolax and Miralax EVERY DAY until I delivered. With this pregnancy, I'll be starting that right away.
