Petition Australian Government to include Zofran on PBS

Postby kas781 » May 11, 2012 7:05 am

Hi Everyone I had HG with my second pregnancy from 5 weeks to 39 weeks. I was prescribed Zofran and took almost 2 per day every day which cost me a fortune as in Australia this medication is not classed as subsidised on the PBS for woman with HG but it is subsidised for other diseases. I want to challenge this inequity with the PBS and petition for it to be discounted so sufferers can take the medication as needed rather than rationed due to the cost. This medication enabled me to care for my older child and continue working part-time throughout most of the pregnancy but it cost me over $2000 in Zofran. If anyone would like to help me with the petition process and distribution please reply to this message. thanks Karen :D
