Right Ovary?

Postby ejoann » Jul 02, 2004 10:55 pm

Okay this might sound crazy but I read it on this site somewhere and I wanted to post the question:

Did you ovulate with the right ovary and experience HG?

I have recently concluded that since I have a issue with my left ovary that keeps me from becoming pg from this side, that my right side always produces the pregnancy. Do I have HG everytime because of this?

Of course probably only mothers that are doing infertility treatments like myself might know which side the baby came from. I will even know how big the little eggy was before they are conceived (24+mm)

Thanks for any thoughts on this, research data would also be appreciated.

I don't have an answer for you on that one. I do not know what side I ovulated from in my pregnancy.

Theory

Postby ejoann » Jul 19, 2004 4:40 pm

The theory is that the right side ovary is closer to main arteries, since the ovary(corpus luteam) produces the hormones, the hormones enter the blood stream faster/stronger(unsteady) and therefore hyperemesis.

I know I read it somewhere but I can't find out where, maybe I invented this theory all by myself, hahaha

As I suffered through a miscarriage immediately before conceiving, I had an early ultrasound with this pregnancy and was told that I had ovulated from my left ovary. This is the only pregnancy that I know which side the egg came from.

Left side

Postby Jeanne » Aug 02, 2004 8:37 pm

I had early ultrasounds with both of my pgs and they both were from the left ovary. That is also the only side I feel myself ovulate from.

All three of my pregnancies have implanted high on the right side of my uterus. I also always have those corpus litium (SP?) cysts on my right side from ovulation. They eventually burst and cause me temporary pain. Once I thought I had an ectopic pregnancy only find out it was the cyst in my right ovary and the baby was fine. HG everytime with me.

I ovulated from the right side and I have HG. I know as I had an early ultrasound to rule out ectopic and there was thw CL cyst.
Wow, what a good question.

You know, I think I've heard that theory before, too. I have no idea which side was which with my pregnancies; with #4, I had CL cysts on both ovaries at 7 weeks, and the right side enlarged and remained a cyst until the end of the pregnancy.

First HG pregnancy was from the right. Second pregnancy was left. No HG, but I m/c. Third pregnancy was also from the left, and HG again.
