I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT THIS WORKS

Postby Neil Myers Jr » Mar 24, 2006 7:47 pm

Hello
We have had problems with HG for about 4 months. A family nurse told us that after surgery patients often have nausea. The often take rubbing alcohol and put it on a cotton ball. The smell cuts the nausea. We tried this and it worked. It worked better than any of the meds. My wife thought that the smell would make it worse but it didn't. I think everyone should try it. If it doesnt work i'm sorry but it helped a lot.

thanks

Hmmm...Never heard of it but it's good to know. I'll be adding that to my "things to try" list. Thanks

This is helped me with both my pregnancies. I noticed it on my own, but a doctor and a nurse both told me about it, too.

Try sniffing fresh lemons. They are even better for me.

This helped me a lot and still does! I love going into the hospital where they have the hand sanitizer. It is amazing. During my worst HG part, it didn't help me much, but it dose now with mild nausea.

Oh yeah, I was waaay into sniffing things.

I learned the alcohol rub wipes things all on my own. Had tons of them from my PICC line... sniff sniff sniff. My DH thought I was nuts. And I sniffed a brand new rubber backed mouse pad. Yeah, I know, weird. But it did give momentary reprieve.

I thought about buying new tires just to keep next to me!!

I've never heard that one before, but will definately keep it mind for next time.

Teddi I can just see you sniffing the little wipes. I can only imagine what the look on my husband's face would be.
