No idea what to write...

Postby Kalanit » Apr 12, 2012 5:38 am

I had a great idea of what to do for HG awareness day, and now suddenly I'm stuck. A close friend of mine has a blog on frugality and parenting with a couple hundred (maybe more) followers. So when I heard about the awareness day, I turned to her and asked if on May 15th, I could write a post about hyperemesis and end it with asking mom's who have had two 'normal' pregnancies to participate as controls for the HG genetic study. My friend agreed immediately.
As soon as she agreed, I sort of panicked. I'm not much of a blog sphere person, and I have no idea how to write. I want to write it as a way to raise awareness among other parents, but no idea where to start. Any suggestions would be really helpful. Thanks!

I have been there. Writer's block stinks, but the best thing to do when you deal with it is just starting writing. Write anything. For something like this, you probably want to make it a little personal, so start with your personal story: when you discovered you were pg, when sickness set in, when you figured out how bad it was, when you discovered HER and the people here to help, and how your child(ren) is/are today. You can add in information later about meds people have to use or other methods of fluid/food intake HGers have to deal with. Just getting the original ideas down is an important first step.

Congrats for going for it! Having your work "published" like that is so exciting, even if it is scary at the same time! :)
