"causes" in facebook

Postby megs4413 » Sep 28, 2007 10:26 am

i don't know how many on here are members on facebook.com (it's like myspace), but there's a new "causes" application where you can create a "cause" and give your friends the opportunity to support and donate to your cause....i'd like to create a HER cause on facebook....mods let me know...and all of you...

get a facebook account! it's free, it's fun, and it's easier/cleaner than myspace.

Let me know if you do one. I am on facebook already. I'd be happy to add it to my groups.

I think anything to further help the HER foundation is a great idea! Just a question about how it works: Do people send donations directly to you, or will you post specific HER donation info from this website, or will you just have a link to the HER website?

they approve not for profits and the donations go directly to the non-profit organization. HER would have to provide some info to get approved as a non-profit that could be donated to. i set up the cause...but someone from HER will need to get their non-profit status approved. the causes work differently than "groups" you have to add the causes application.

Just FYI there's also a hyperemesis group on facebook. I believe it's called something like Hyperemesis when it's more than morning sickness.

That would be cool to get HER added to the list of causes!

The HER Foundation is already set up as a non-profit so that's good! You might need to contact Kimber or Ann Marie to get any additional info you might need. Just pm them. Let us know when it's set up!

I would contact Ann Marie and copy Kimber, or visa versa. Thanks!
