HG Babies

Postby IslandDreamer » Jan 26, 2005 9:42 am

This will sound crazy, but wouldn't it be cool 8) to have a portrait of some kind of the HG babies of HER Moms? That would be cool. Not sure how it could be used, but to put a face on the illness would be healing for us Moms and educational to the normals. But how to get the international contingent together...

Suzanne,

I just wanted to say that I love this idea! :D I don't exactly know how we could manage it or how it could be utilized, but it really is a lovely, lovely idea! I feel such encouragement from the photos of babies people post here in the forum. To see masses of beautiful babies and older kids, too, would be so moving and the sheer numbers of them would certainly be eye-opening to those "normals!"
Hugs,
Meg

What if someone is highly skilled with computers and can digitally combine all the babies? I think a portrait of all the moms would be useful in some capacity for PR also...again, giving a face to the abstract statistics and showing how hg cuts across all cultural, economic, and social lines. Hmmmmmm....

more of a collage

Postby IslandDreamer » Jan 28, 2005 3:28 pm

Spoke to my photography genius husband and learned this: This idea is possible, if everyone sends actual photos and it is done digitally. But very time consuming, as you'd guess. I'll ask some of the leadership at the Foundation if they would want to have something like this as a fundraiser....we collect the photos, collage them, my dh creates some cool sepia effect, and we all pay unreasonable fees for a copy  . Thoughts? It would be cool to see it published someplace!!!

Suzanne,

I'd buy one. I bet we could sell them to some high-risk practices as well, too. My peri has lots of photos of baby's born to couples thought to be "infertile" in nice frames around her offices... it could be great encouragement for sick moms!

Hi Guys

I also think this is a great idea. Publicising HG and HER in addition to showing the light at the end of the tunnel.

And when you think of the cheer volumae of ladies that come here and say 'if only I had known about this site when I was pg (e.g. me :P ) or in my 1st/2nd/3rd pgy' there is such a need for knowledeg and to know you're not alone.

I think that's a fantastic idea! I'd have one in my office (ok a room with a pc and lots of junk..lol) so I could look at all the gorgeous babies we have all produced! I'd also have a copy to take to my dr's office and DEMAND they hang it up!

I think this is a good idea too. Perhaps may even be somthing that could be tied into HD fundraising. Do HG Babies prints and maybe even Babies of HG calenders. Good Christmas gifts. Everyone loves babies.
