This is so peliminary we are not with an agency yet ( would prefer to just use an attorney)
But I am just excited as we are putting our feet in the water, and it feels kind of wonderful....

Nice FB Page. We are also looking into adoption after a failed HG nightmare and no children to show for it. Let me know if you find any good agencies. I talked to a couple of adoption law centers. I was disheartened to learn that they want huge sums of non-refundable money upfront, with no guarantee of a successful match (and no money back if it fails). Scary. I am hoping to find an agency with more reasonable costs. I've heard of one that doesn't make you pay the bulk sum until after the match occurs, but they are out of my state. I'm even looking at foster-adoption through the county where I live. But I'm concerned about the issues inherent in that situation too. Would love to hear success stories of agencies anyone has had experience with!

are either of you still looking into adoption? the daughter of an acquaintance is looking into out of family adoption. the baby is a girl and is due April 25th, but i want to stress that the daughter, while not wanting to be a teen mom, is still in the "weighing options" stage so i'm not sure if she most definitely will adopt out. let me know if you're interested and i'll get contact details for you.

My husband and I are homestudy approved through an agency in New York, which means that we are ready to make a match and bring home a baby anytime now!

samarapana and julianadg- please feel free to ask any questions you might have. We have done A LOT of research on agencies, attorneys (New York does not allow facilitators) and the whole adoption process.

nekorachan- We are home study approved. If your friend is still considering adoption, I would really appreciate if you would pass along our information. our website www.parentprofile.net has some information about us and links to our email and facebook pages so that we can answer any other questions.

Best wishes to all!
