Our babies (born through surrogacy!) are here!

Postby Abby » Dec 20, 2006 4:47 pm

I wanted to announce that our babies are finally here! Will and Theo were born on November 21st, 2006, at 4 pounds 11 and 4 ounds 12 ounces. They're doing great!

The road to these babies --from the decision to not pursue another HG pregnancy, to finding a surrogate, to three IVF attempts --was long and not always uncomplicated! but they are here, we're deleriously happy, and I'm especially pleased not to have had to go through another HG pregnancy and recovery. I'd be happy to talk to anyone interested about the details.

WOW congrats!!! I have considered surrogacy quite a bit. Was it insanely expensive? We have gotten the name of a woman who has been a surrogate in the past and wants to meet with us, but the money scares me as does the legal stuff. I would love to hear more. Please email me!

Wow congratulations! What a blessing, enjoy your precious babies.

It's not even an option for us as surrogacy isn't leagal in NZ (except in extreme life threatening cases and HG isn't considered life threatening), we'd have to move out of NZ to go that way.
