I had HG with #1, lost 60lbs during the pgcy, used Compazine, was hospitalized a couple times, etc. But it pretty much resolved around 20wks, except that it left behind a total lack of appetite and I had to force-feed for the remainder of pgcy.
With #2, the NVP was much less severe...but I was on Compazine & B6 & Unisom as soon as I started feeling sick. The NVP was gone at 16 wks, except for that lack of appetite, and at 17wks, I was diagnosed with gallstones. I suffered attacks all through my pgcy and took tylenol w/ codeine when they hit. I had my GB out when DD was a month old. Lost 60lbs.
With #3, NVP was even less severe - I took B6 & Unisom only during the days for a couple weeks. Lost only 25lbs so far (DD is 4wks).
I can't say that having the GB out helped the HG because my HG seems to get less with each pgcy. I know that makes me the slim exception to the HG rule and I thank God everytime I come here and read others' stories. But I thought I'd tell you my story anyway. If nothing else, at least you won't deal with attacks while pg!! And as you get to the end of pgcy with GB issues, the uterus pushes on the GB and intensifies the attacks - NO fun.
Good luck! I hope that having it out DOES make a difference for you!
