Anyone feel this way?

Postby krsweetpea » Jul 01, 2012 8:17 am

I had my little Gabriella this past Wednesday. It's hitting me hard how ill I was now that I'm not. I feel anxious in the morning waking up thinking I'm going to wake up to nausea-then I don't. Off and on through the day I feel anxious because I got so accustomed to being sick.

Has anyone felt this way- will it go away?

Weeeellll, I'm obviously still pregnant, but I can say that I had that same thing with DD1. The "acuteness" of it started to improve after about 3 weeks, and I slowly realized that I was feeling 'better'. It still took a while for my system to recover, and my taste buds/smell senses to be normal again, but the first few days are the worst of it. You should feel better and better everyday...and YES it goes away!!! Get lots of rest if you can, as tiredness/headaches and breastfeeding hormones may make you get the odd queezy feeling too.
DD1 born Jan 29, 2010. Mod-Severe HG. Started treatment at 5 weeks. c-section (breech)
DD2 born July 23, 2012. Severe HG started treatment at 4 weeks until birth. VBAC!

I was really weak after my first so it was harder and took some adjusting to. With my 2nd, I felt fantastic and over did it, but loved every minute of it. I think this time I'll be too busy to think about anything ever again. :)

I think for me it's hearing other people comment on how much better I look now that makes me realize just how sick I was. It was surreal how quickly the HG was gone, I had a very quick labour so I went from vomiting my guts out at 7.30am to sitting up in bed eating *foodment* cupcakes *end foodment* by lunch time. I'm still struggling a little with smells and food aversions 2 weeks on, and a bit of heart burn which I suspect is the result of nine months of taking Zantac round the clock, but other than that feeling fantastic.

I felt really terrible after delivery. I think I had a post-partum depression. I got no joy from my son and everything was so dark and boring. but in a couple of weeks, my depression was over and now... I'm the most proud mom :)
