Buddy available

Postby DeAnna » Jan 03, 2008 4:43 pm

Hi Ladies,

I am not sure how the buddy system works but you are all welcome to email me.

If you'd like me to check up on you every day or so I can do that. With my first HG pregnancy Motherisk in Canada actually called me nearly everyday just to check on me. That was a relief just to know someone was there who cared and didn't think I was just a crazy wimp!

My husband is worried about me posting our phone # on the web, but if you email yours to me I'll call and check on you. If you can handle the computer during illness, I can check on you via email.

Please know that (even though I do not know you ) you are cared about and that both you and your baby matter. I am so sorry that you are sick
and wish wellness and peace for you.

Blessings,
DeAnna carnadeanna@yahoo.com

Thanks, Ladies. I got your email, Rachel, and I'll be in touch. To sign up to be a buddy, you just need to get me your name, email address, and location. I contact you when someone near you needs help, and then you take it from there. You can PM or email me if you need further information. I appreciate your willingness to help!

I'd like a buddy

Postby fullofsunshine » Jan 14, 2008 4:13 am

I'm not sure if I'm pregnant yet. We just started trying, but I'm very fertile so it won't be long. I've survived HG 2 times and now have two boys ages 2 and 3. I'm very emotional about going through this again and have yet to meet anybody who can understand what it's like, even my husband, though he tries. I know that both times HG hit me real fast and although I would get on this website I never felt well enough to create a profile. So I'm getting a jump on it before the nausea sets in. We've wanted another baby since baby #2, but I haven't been able to convince myself to do it. Now I'm ready. I live just outside of Ogden UT in West Haven (a small town).

Thank you,
April

Postby Alix in CA » Mar 14, 2008 7:34 pm

Hi Pamela,
Firstly, I would like to tell you how amazing I think you and this website is!
I am a labor and delivery nurse currently on disability with my second pregnancy but first with HG. You give great, sound advice. You are there for moms in a way I have never seen at the hospital or doctor's offices.
Thank you.
I am 10 + weeks along and miserable but compared to many on this website I guess I have a mild to moderate case. Im on home IV hydration. Ive lost 8 pounds so far. Im lucky to have a job that provides me with the opportunity to go on disability and insurance that pays for IV hydration.
I would really love a buddy though. I have a history of severe depression and the isolation and misery that comes with HG is really getting to me.
Thanks for you help.

Hi Pamela

Postby charity » Mar 21, 2008 6:53 pm

This is my first posting (ever on a web thingy) so, i hope I'm doing it right! i just survived my second HG pregnancy. My new baby is 12 weeks today and my first is 3! i was on the feeding tube, in the hospital, home nurse, drug after drug and as my husband and i say, "you name it....we tried it." I finally found something that did work halfway thru this last pregnancy and it really turned my pregnancy around, but i definitely had a lot to recover from, as my hair fell out and my organs were having lots of trouble. but, she and i did make it thru! :)

i live in LA and i see you have a number of California people, but if you needed another one, i think i could help walk somebody thru. i actually got connected with a friend of a friend who helped me thru the first 20 weeks, then she disappeared. later, she told me it was because it was stirring up the losses of her 2 HG pregnancies and she just got too sad hearing about mine.....which i only can imagine must have been very difficult for her. Because of that experience, i thought i should definitely volunteer to help if anyone needs someone to talk about it with. it is truly a horrible sickness.....words cannot do justice to the pain and no one should have to go thru it alone.

Hi Pamela,

I have a beautiful 2 1/2 year old daughter. I suffered with HG throughout my pregnancy until i gave birth 6 weeks early. I am searching for the courage to do it again as my husband and I would like to have another child. I am from Bermuda and noticed that you have 1 buddy listed. I'd love to get in contact with her. My obstetrician was not very helpful and i was not offered any options. Perhaps this buddy had a better experience.

Thansk so much!

Yes, we do have another member from Bermuda! I'll be in touch about her information. She never did find anyone in her area when she was going through HG, but this is how support networks get started--over time, slow but sure. Glad to see you here. :)

As always, I am here if someone needs a buddy. I just gave birth to my son in December. This was my 3rd HG pregnancy.

I live in South Central PA and am close to Lancaster, Gettysburg, Harrisburg and about 40 min from the Baltimore, MD area as well.
